about
II is a song that explores the complex relationships between trauma, gender, and sexuality. Additionally, it addresses navigating recovery in a world that glorifies the tortured artist. II was recorded live in an attempt to create an intimate feeling for the listener, almost as if they were in the room as we were playing it. II invokes ‘90’s nostalgia with its riff heavy guitars and snarky lyrics. This single is the second of three that are being released in promotion of our upcoming debut album, Pretty Dark.
lyrics
driving on empty, I suppose
that people who have their shit together don't
i don’t think i'm getting better
i remember
the week my father dropped me off at the hospital
I don't like boys I just fall in love with them when the trauma feels like home
i guess i'm better now than i was a month ago
better only means so much when you cant get out of bed
proving I could hurt myself better than them
I don't like boys I just fall in love with them when the trauma feels like home
i guess i'm better now than i was a month ago
they laugh and say I'm pretty dark but wouldn't you be if you needed it for your art?

Stunning and tranquil dream pop backed by strong shoegaze-like instrumentation. The two greatest facets of this album are the floaty female vocals that ride along the forefront and the expansive melodicism of the guitars that create moments of intensity
Everything is delivered with a crystalline clarity, never becoming too washed out in droning sounds. There are certainly efforts to balance the more spirited or slow-burn moments found throughout the record Lorenzo
On their latest LP, the Austin group peel away the synth and distortion to highlight the jangly melodies at the core of their songs. Bandcamp Album of the Day Mar 9, 2022
